IMI CCI, at their Houston, TX, was in the process of expanding their cloud services, focusing particularly on implementing dual backup systems. Specifically, it was the implementation of double backup. The work was progressing as scheduled and had reached the testing phase when they received unexpected news about the approaching Hurricane Harvey.

Quick resolution of a crisis situation
An IMI CCI employee contacted Geetoo support from Houston, “I dealt directly with Geetoo support when I found out there was a tornado coming. It responded immediately and doubled the cloud capacity from 2 TB to 4 TB in just 10 minutes, which was needed for the entire data backup. Subsequently, the transfer of all servers to the cloud was initiated and all data was safely stored before the branch was completely disconnected.”
At the same time, IMI CCI agreed with Geetoo’s technical support to transfer all virtual servers to the Prague office, where complete preparations were made to restore all servers if necessary. “We used our Veeam Cloud Connect Replication solution, which now gives IMI the ability to leverage disaster recovery in the Geetoo cloud,” explains Michael Trousil, Global & Enterprise Sales Account Manager at Geetoo, adding: “We subsequently agreed to transfer the cloud backups to our external drive and the data was transferred to the Brno office – the data was transferred to IMI CCI Brno.”

Everything was on time and the data was fully available in the cloud.
