VMware Explore 2024: Key Takeaways from Las Vegas
A major shift occurred with the simplification of the technology stack. The number of products has been reduced from 168 to just four, with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) playing a key role. This brings us to the central theme of the event: a focus on private cloud and, secondly, private AI solutions in partnership with NVIDIA.
Private cloud can be viewed as either a dedicated infrastructure within a cloud provider’s data center or as on-premises hardware, whether owned or leased. VMware caters to both options. VCF consolidates IT resource management and enables the deployment of AI and edge technologies.
Between the lines, there is a clear intention to reduce dependency on global hyperscalers. While public clouds offer many benefits, such as advanced technologies that meet most business needs, their cost predictability is lower, especially over the long term. Many companies eventually face unexpected cost increases, forcing them to rethink their cloud strategy.
We dealt with a similar situation at Intelligent Studios, where the initial launch in a hyperscaler cloud seemed promising. However, after some time, service consumption parameters changed, and technical support became difficult to access. We addressed this by migrating the client to Geetoo Cloud, where we provided an optimal, scalable solution.
This trend aligns with our proven Cloud Smart approach. Certain workloads are best operated on-premises, while others function more efficiently in the public cloud of a local provider. Highly specialized services, on the other hand, are often best suited for global players. Everything hinges on a thorough initial analysis to identify a client’s needs and determine the ideal solution for long-term growth. Diversifying services is also the best defense against vendor lock-in.
We view this “global-to-local” shift positively. As a Czech and European cloud solution provider, Geetoo Technology offers clients tailored service, real expert technical support (no chatbots), and transparent costs.
With VMware Cloud Foundation, we are ready to offer full support, whether our clients need a private cloud in their own data center, the flexibility of a local public cloud, or are considering a hybrid or multicloud scenario. We can consult and implement these solutions based on specific client needs.
We are eagerly looking forward to VMware Explore Barcelona, taking place from November 4th to 7th. We expect more details and updates tailored to the European market. For Geetoo, this event is a valuable tradition.
Our team will again be present in strong numbers at the conference. While the ICT team absorbs new innovations and technical updates, the sales team will be fully focused on our customers’ needs. You can expect a follow-up article in November with a detailed analysis of all the updates and insights from our team.
