Geetoo S3

General information

What is Geetoo S3

Geetoo S3 is a cloud object storage product that meets all standards for object storage.

Who is the Geetoo S3 for?

Geetoo S3 storage is designed for developers and enterprises who want to take advantage of the functionality of S3 storage. Object storage has become one of the most used data storage solutions today. Thanks to its functionalities, it can cover a wide range of user needs.

What are the usecase for using Geetoo S3?

S3 storage has a wide range of applications. The most common use case is for Cloud-native applications that need object storage available from anywhere. At the same time, S3 storage is used for storing backups or creating archives. Another use may be large-scale data warehouses used for the collection and subsequent evaluation of large volumes of data.

What SLAs do you provide for Geetoo S3?

In Geetoo S3 we currently offer an SLA of 99.99%

For what period of time can I purchase the product?

You can purchase the product without any time commitment. The PAYG financial model is used here.

How can I start using the product?

Please contact our sales department on +420 226 299 899 or by email at sales@geetoo.com.

Do you offer a demo environment?

Yes, we are happy to set up a free demo environment for you to try for 14 days. The demo environment can then be seamlessly transitioned to the production version.

Technology

Where is the data located?

We run the environment on our Geetoo cloud. We do not use the sites of global cloud providers for operations.

What do I get when I order a product?

Based on the pre-agreed parameters (disk tier type and size), we set up the environment with the defined parameters for the customer and provide access to the object storage through a web interface at the URL address provided. When you log in to the web interface, you have a secret key and an access key.

How do I operate the product?

The product can be controlled via a standard API or via a web console.

What are the minimum and maximum product parameters?

The minimum consumed capacity is set to 500GB of data. There is no maximum limit.

Is it possible to run multitenancy at the user level?

You can create new users under your administrator account and assign different limits (e.g. limits on disk space). You can use this functionality to create individual projects or workgroups, for example.

How is data redundancy ensured here?

Data redundancy is provided in the form of Erasure coding. This ensures data redundancy and maximum data availability.

Is the data spread across multiple geographic locations?

Yes, the Geetoo S3 product is operated from several geographically separated data centers.

How is data backed up?

We only back up the general settings of the Geetoo S3 service. Backup of customer data is the responsibility of the customer.

What connectivity do you provide?

The basic connectivity provided is 100 Mbps. This 100 Mbps is provided as part of a 10 Gbps aggregated connection, with a maximum of 1:100 aggregation. However, this connectivity can be increased up to the guaranteed 10Gbps on request. Connectivity is always provided in redundant HA mode, where individual branches are redundant.

What technologies is Geetoo S3 built on?

Geetoo S3 uses S3 Cloudian technology.

How can I protect my buckets even more?

To increase the security of the Geetoo S3, the “Object Lock” functionality is available. This functionality protects embedded data from deletion and can be used as basic protection against ransomware. Object Lock is enabled at the protection level of each bucket.

What version do you currently offer and support?

In the current version, we support the S3 v2 and v4 versions of the API. We always keep the latest stable and production version.

What disk tiers do you offer?

We currently offer two disk tiers – Premium and No-Frequent. Disk tiers differ from each other in latency and maximum data throughput.

What is the Premium Disk Tier?

Premium tier is designed for production data with high demands on speed and availability. It is suitable for data applications and services that require a cloud-native approach. There is a strong emphasis on low latency and high data throughput. This disk tier is run exclusively from Solid State Drives (SSDs).

What is a No-frequency disk tier?

A disk tier designed for developing and testing applications with intermittent access to this data. Its low price makes it suitable for providing a large amount of disk capacity. It is also designed to store backup copies and use the storage as a third, geographically separate location.

Price

What is included in the price?

The price includes consumed/allocated resources in the form of disk capacity and support.

What financial models can I pay for the product in?

We offer two basic financial models – the PAYG model (you pay only for the actual resources consumed in the past month) or the Allocation model (you pay upfront for agreed resources).

Is there a charge for bandwidth to and from the cloud?

No. There is no charge for data transferred to and from the cloud.

Are IOPS counts on disk arrays charged?

No. There is no charge for IOPS consumed on disk arrays.

License

Do I need to use certain licenses to use the product?

No, no licenses are required for this product.
